The backcountry slopestyle portion of the 2014 Swatch Skiers Cup took place on January 7, and Team Americas took the victory by a score of 9 to 7, thanks in large part to team captain JP Auclair’s flawless second run. His run starts off with a quick cliff drop into the course, followed by a bigger drop off the next cliff band, a left side 360 off the first jump, and then a massive double backflip (which he stomps, naturally) off the final jump. Looks like JP’s still got it, eh? The big-mountain portion of the competition was cancelled today due to poor conditions, securing the overall victory for Team Americas. The Swatch Skiers Cup is expected to return in 2015 for its fifth installment.
