Today kicked off the as the first official day of riding at Jon Olsson’s Super Sessions. The consensus was to session the JOI (Jon Olsson Invitational) style jump, similar to past years, only this year it’s a bit larger. Calm skies, sunny weather, epic clouds and decent temperatures reigned supreme, playing a necessary role in today’s events.

Eight of the ten riders hit the enormous jump, throwing down stylish and technical tricks, for a sizable crowd and a slew of filmers, photographers and other various media. Helicopters buzzed by, snowmobiles zoomed around as some of the best riders in the world stepped up to the plate this afternoon. The afternoon session slowly turned into an epic sunset shoot, with invitees jumping until the last drop of light was swallowed up by the horizon.

A wonderful, long session was the perfect way to kick off the Jon Olsson Super Sessions, and we’ll see what tomorrow brings for the riders.
