Today marks Day 1 of 5 here in beautiful Aspen Snowmass for the 2011 All-Mountain Ski Test. Our entire staff will be on hand this week to enjoy what has come to be known simply as, Freeskierfest.
We've hired an entourage of highly skilled testers, the forecast is calling for tons of snow, and the 2011-2012 skis look amazing. That being said, things are shaping up to get pretty darn crazy around here.
Unloading some of the skis on Sunday.
For the past week, some of the Freeskier crew have been here in town for our Microbrew Ski Test. This 3-day affair gives smaller brands the opportunity to come hang out, shred with the gang, showcase their gear, get some feedback, and of course, get reviews for our annual Buyer's Guide.
We enjoyed pristine snow conditions, and shredding on Ajax is absolutely incredible, as it provides us with every type of terrain needed to give the skis the ultimate test. I.e. Backcountry, pow stashes, kick-ass tree runs, endless groomers, powder-covered moguls, bacfklip kickers galore, cliff drops, pillow lines and 3,267 ft of vertical gnar; we've got the full range at our disposal, allowing us to shred every type of ski that comes our way. From the skinniest carver, to the fattest pow board, we've got it covered. And trust me, they're all here. Check out the recap video below.
We'll be rolling out tons of content this week, including photos, action packed edits, and also videos featuring company reps giving run-downs on their products. Be sure to check back often for updates.
