X Games 12 Slope Preview
Here we are, continuing our coverage at the Winter X Games 12 in Aspen, CO. Day 3 brings us warm weather and beautiful skies, under which the athletes had a few hours to warm up on the slopestyle course. Not all the athletes made it out today, but the ones who did, made the best of it. Here is a breakdown of the course:
The first feature is a trapezoid box, with three ways to get on. Watch for each rider to vary their tech tricks on this one.The 2nd feature is an up box, with a sizable gap and long landing. Sammy has been throwing rodeo 450 off, Peter has been backflipping, and PK has been 810-ing off. Following the two rails features are 4 giant hits. Two gaps and two traditional tables, look for doubles to go down on the 3rd and 4th hits. Rumor has it that Chris Turpin was throwing kangaroo flips today.
While there is more practice before the qualifiers tomorrow, time is running out for the athletes to get their runs dialed. Stay tuned for slopestyle coverage all day tomorrow.
