100 days from Sochi, US Freeskiing team shreds jib set-up in Times Square

A celebration was held Tuesday in Times Square to mark 100 days to the start of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The event, hosted by the USOC, was complete with a rail set-up, containing features provided by IRPC and Woodward at Copper. A handful of US Freeskiing athletes were on-site to enjoy the experience. The media was present in droves, eager to discover more about the sport of freeskiing, and the general public gathered for hours, curious about the snow-laden ramp that was erected in the streets.

We’ve rounded up a few of the athletes’ best Instagrams, in addition to a few of our own, snapped by online editor Henrik Lampert, who was also in town to cover The North Face’s unveiling of the US Freeskiing Olympic team uniforms. It’s not everyday you find someone skiing in downtown New York City, but one thing is for sure: We’re all for it.
