By now, you’ve heard about the absolutely insane amount of snow Mammoth Mountain has received. But what you may not know is that the resort just broke a record for its snowiest month of all time. A whopping 241 inches have been recorded at Main Lodge in January, and there’s much more at higher elevations. Fifty eight of those inches fell just this past weekend, bringing the season total to 344 inches—a.k.a. 28.5 feet…
That’s right—there has never been a deeper month than January 2017 at Mammoth, and the craziest part of it all is that we still have a full week left before February arrives.
