Don’t miss the first annual Sean Jordan Open at Big Boulder, January 4

In December, it was announced that the inaugural Sean Jordan Open would be taking place at Big Boulder in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, hosted by the one and only Sean Jordan. The slopestyle competition and rail jam will take place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on January 4 (registration starts at 8 a.m.), and is open to anyone, male or female, with space limited to 100 skiers. Cost of entry is $40, and that includes a lift ticket and post-event barbecue. The top cash prize is $5,000, and there will also be a Grom category and Best Female award given out. In the words of the event’s host, here’s the reasoning behind holding this open style event:

“This competition is about bringing something back to the east coast that can stoke kids out, give them a chance to make some money, and compete with other kids from the area. I want my event to be as simple as possible. Everyone is more than welcome to come out and compete. There used to be events like the VT Open that gave any east coast kid a chance to be noticed and win some cash, that isn’t available to kids anymore like it used to be. Our hope is to bring back a fun, relaxed slopestyle event to the east coast.”

To register for the open event, which is quickly filling up, head to jfbb.com.clubs and use the username sjo and password bbp. For more information contact Dylan Malone.
