Woodward announces new Park City, Utah location for winter 2017

Woodward—a leader in action sports camps and programs across the nation—has announced that it will build a new location in Park City, Utah. Though “still in the design and development stages,” it appears that the new facility will open by early winter 2017.

Woodward Park City will be located at Gorgoza Tubing Park—10 miles from the base of Park City Mountain Resort—on 126 acres of land. According to its official site, a 52,000-square-foot action sports center will start to be built this fall that will include: “33,500-square feet of indoor trampolines, ramps, foam pits, pump tracks, a concrete street skatepark and a digital media studio; 12,400-square feet of food and beverage services, ticketing, rentals and guest services; and a 2,200-square-foot lounge and coffee house, a party room and a third floor mezzanine.” Furthermore, there will be “year-round lift accessed trails for mountain bike/slopestyle/BMX and downhill trails, a dirt pump track as well as winter ski and snowboard terrain parks.”

Tomorrow evening, Woodward Park City organizers will host a Community Open House at the Park City Visitors Center, located at the Park City Tech Center. The event will last from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., aimed at letting the local community “provide valuable feedback while listening to the company’s plans and concepts for the future.”

Woodward is owned by Powdr Corp, who previously owned Park City Mountain Resort before turning it over to Vail Resorts in 2014. This could potentially make Woodward Park City’s future—and name, in particular—complex, as Vail Resorts is currently applying to trademark the term “Park City.” However, only time will tell.

Stay tuned, folks.
