Go fast, take chances; Giro Sport Design joins the 2016 Rahlves Banzai Tour

Giro Sport Design has announced that it will participate as an official partner of this year’s Rahlves Banzai Tour. For the eighth consecutive year, former U.S. Ski Team member and all around badass Daron Rahlves will host the event, where a collection of skiing’s top adrenaline-seekers will go head-to-head on a skier-cross style big-mountain course.

With two stops in Rahlves’ home of Lake Tahoe on this year’s tour, the event will provide fun for participants and spectators alike. This year’s tour will kick off at Kirkwood Ski Area on Saturday, February 27-28, and the final stop will be held at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, March 5-6. For each event, solo, timed qualifying runs will take place on Saturday, and the head-to-head finals will go down on Sunday.

“The Rahlves’ Banzai Tour is the culmination of my experiences as a kid skiing down the mountain and then mixing up all styles of skiing throughout my career,” states Rahlves. “It’s racing in it’s purest form with the attitude of stepping up to a challenge and grabbing the bull by the horns. It’s a test of ski and riding skills. I’ve relied on Giro equipment to perform and keep me safe for twelve years now. I feel very confident wearing their helmets and goggles for the best protection and visual performance in all light and terrain conditions. I’m proud to have Giro supporting the RBT and our athletes and feel it’s a worthy statement for the brand to be associated with us as well.”
