The inaugural Winter Dew Tour has officially come to an end. The final stop at Northstar concluded this weekend but not before many SCOTT athletes took their places on the podium. Men’s ski slopestyle was the first event on the docket.
It was young Tom Wallisch getting the biggest win of his career with fellow youngsters Alexis Godbout and Jossi Wells close on his heels in second and third. Other notable finishes included Simon Dumont in seventh while Nick Martini landed in eighth. By finishing second at Northstar, Alexis managed to snag second overall in the Dew Tour Cup standings. Congrats boyz!!!
Among the women, in Slopestyle it was SCOTT athletes Michelle Parker and Meg Olenick taking home second and third place respectively in an event that saw 5s, 7s, a 9, and even a rodeo 7 thrown down by ladies. The level was raised by the women and they were there to answer. Michelle and Meg grabbed their spots on the podium by spinning off of rails and mixing in smooth, grabbed spins all the way down the course. Congrats ladies!!!
The Superpipe Showdown took place under the lights on Saturday night, and it was Tanner Hall again taking the top podium spot with Simon right behind him. They continued to raise the amplitude bar all the way down the pipe, spinning both ways in the process. The story of the night however belonged to Justin Dorey. While he finished just 11th, Justin was trying to throw down a run never before seen in a pipe competition. His first hit Whiskey Flip on the right wall was backed up by another double on the left wall on his fourth hit down the pipe. Other notable finishes were Tyler Peterson in eighth, and LJ Strenio in 10th. After the dust settled, it was Simon finishing in second, and Dorey in third in the overall Dew Cup superpipe standings.
