Guster will bring its American alternative rock band to Vail Village on April 18, 2010 to round out Spring Back to Vail’s free three-night concert series. Presented by Rockstar and held in downtown Vail Village, the concert will commence promptly following the festival’s wacky and wild World Pond Skimming Championships, scheduled to conclude at 4:30 p.m.
Guster, with 6 albums and 13 singles, offers a one-of-a-kind sound through the combination of bongos, congas, cymbals and other drums. Performing together for more than a decade, Guster’s live shows have a style of their own.
“I’m loving the fact that I get to ski Vail twice this year all under the auspices of “business!” said Guster’s guitarist and vocalist Adam Gardner. “It was a blast opening the season with Yukon Kornelius at Vail Snow Daze and I look forward to playing the last ski weekend with Guster!â€
Guster has come a long way from their days in the early 90’s when Ryan Miller, Adam Gardner and Brian Rosenworcel first played together within the crammed dorms of Tufts University on the outskirts of Boston, MA. Today, with two lead guitars and vocals, Adam Gardner and Ryan Miller, a bongo, conga and percussion player, Brian Rosenworcel, and back-up guitar, vocals and percussion player, Joe Pisapia, Guster has made a name for itself as one of modern rock’s most endearing pop/rock songwriting talents. The quartet has toured with such luminaries as the Dave Matthews Band, Bob Dylan and the Barkenaked Ladies.
“We are excited to have and evening with Guster to close out this year’s Spring Back to Vail concert lineup,†said James Deighan of Highline Sports & Entertainment, the event’s producer. “The band is known for its fun-spirited live shows and their concert in Vail will be the perfect way to cap-off a jam-packed week of events. Adam Gardner was a member of Yukon Kornelius that performed at Vail Snow Daze and we’re thrilled to have him return to Vail for Spring Back.â€
