Beast Of The East! Mt. Snow Opens Terrain Park

Mt. Snow, Vermont has opened a small park on their Launch Pad beginner area. With cold temperatures at the end of last week, and a motivated snowmaking crew, the resort stepped up and got a small park with a half-dozen features up and running, including a mailbox, handrail, down box, culvert bonk, flat-down box, and the choice of either a culvert jib or a modest kicker. The move makes them the first ski area to open in the East, although the terrain on tap is modest. According to the resort, the Launch Pad terrain park will be open to the public as long as the snow holds. Visitors can secure a free lift ticket from employees stationed at the park.

Currently the resort says that the outlook is promising, with temperatures to warm for snowmaking on Monday, but cooling temps expected for the rest of the week. The mountain hopes to blow snow Tuesday and Wednesday night, and possibly into the weekend. You can check out all the action including the snow report at at mountsnow.com. The ski area will post further details and updated information on the Launch Pad early season project regularly.
