ELKTON, Md. (November 14, 2011) – W.L. Gore & Associates (“Gore”) (www.gore.com), inventor of GORE-TEX® high performance fabric technologies for comfort and protection, today announced that it will join forces with Armada Skis (www.armadaskis.com), the premier rider-owned, rider-driven independent ski company, to redefine the Vector Series, a high-performance line of outerwear inspired by needs of elite athletes and guides. The line, debuting at SIA and ISPO tradeshows in 2012, will use GORE-TEX® fabrics exclusively throughout the full range of jackets and pants for men and women.
“Our collaboration with Gore marks a significant milestone for Armada and represents the evolution of our softgoods program,” said Jeff Russell, Director of Product Development at Armada Skis. “Armada’s passion and creativity is now strengthened by the most advanced technology in the world. The result is a line of distinctive Armada designs that excel in quality and performance – something our customers have come to expect with all of our products.”
Armada’s designers took advantage of a long development period to work closely with Gore to offer technically superior products that push the envelope with Armada’s signature style. The designs offer an alternative to traditional skiwear by providing relevant fit and features taken from its top athletes who constantly define trends in the sport.
“We understand the demand for high performance and style,” said Tom Boyle, Strategic Marketing for Mountain Sports at Gore. “Armada had a very clear goal – to engineer a great looking collection for demanding athletes that need the absolute best technology. Armada’s Vector Series embodies that combination giving this discriminating consumer the optimal choice.”
To support this new collaboration, Armada will promote the new offering with an advertising campaign, social media and exposure from their team of athletes. Additionally Alaska Heli Skiing in Haines, Alaska will outfit their guides with Armada’s new GORE-TEX® PRO jacket and pant for the upcoming 2011-12 season.
Armada will be showing the new line at SIA Snow Show (Booth #4229) Jan. 26-29, 2012, in Denver, Colorado (https://www.snowsports.org/) and at ISPO, the International Sports Business Network Show held in Munich, Germany, Jan. 29-Feb. 1, 2012. The Vector Series will be at retail in fall 2012 and will be available at ski specialty and authorized online dealers in North America, Europe and Japan.
