Bob Costas likens slopestyle in the Olympics to MTV show Jackass on Today

On the January 6, 2014 airing of The Today Show, host Matt Lauer interviewed NBC’s primetime host for Olympic Coverage Bob Costas. When Lauer brings up the introduction of slopestyle in the Sochi Games into the conversation, Costas states that he thinks that “the president of the IOC should be Johnny Knoxville, because basically this stuff is just Jackass stuff that they invented, and called Olympic sports.” Skip to about the 1:18 mark of the video for Costas’ remarks. With all of the hard work and dedication put into slopestyle skiers to qualify and compete in the Olympics, Costas’ statements are sure to create a buzz in the freeskiing community.
