Salomon adds Kalen Thorien and Liv Sansoz to international team

Salomon continues to increase their international team of female athletes. This week they signed both Kalen Thorien and Liv Sansoz, who will be representing the brand’s alpine and outdoor product line.

“We’re excited to welcome Thorien and Sansoz to the team,” says Bruno Bertrand, Salomon’s outdoor and skiing sports marketing manager. “Joining longtime athlete, Kim Havell, Thorien and Sansoz are sure to bring passion, creativity, and skill to the international team, while showcasing everything that Salomon products have to offer.”

Both Thorien and and Sansoz are well-versed mountain athletes and come with strong skills and followings. Thorien is an experienced skier, backpacker, canyoneer and writer. Her adventures around the world and creative dialogue have gained her over 25,000 followers on Instagram and she has been published by a handfull of outdoor websites and magazines. Sansoz is an incredible big wall climber and was one of the first women to climb a 5.14c, and won numerous sport climbing competitions. The addition of Thorien and Sansoz will allow Salomon to be a recognized name among all outdoor sports and continue to produce innovative women’s products.

Salomon, the leader in technical design and innovation in mountain sports, has signed Kalen Thorien and Liv Sansoz to the international athlete team. Thorien and Sansoz will represent the brand’s alpine and outdoor product lines, including alpine hardgoods, apparel, protective and footwear.

Thorien is an experienced skier, backpacker, canyoneer and writer. Her active lifestyle and creative dialogue have gained her more than 25,000 followers on Instagram while her adventures have taken her around the world and led to her, and her writing being featured by Teton Gravity Research, Outside Magazine, Powder Magazine and many others. “I am thrilled to be joining forces with such a solid team,” says Thorien. “Salomon has an incredible heritage and I’m excited to be a part of it moving forward.”

A well-versed mountain athlete with a background in big wall climbing, Sansoz currently resides in Chamonix, France where she focuses on mountaineering and ski mountaineering. “I’m always looking to push myself,” says Sansoz. “Salomon does the same with thoughtful design that continues to improve year after year.” In the 2000’s, Sansoz was one of the first women to climb a 5.14c and won numerous sport climbing competitions.

The Salomon Mountain Collective, is a diverse group of product developers, designers and athletes united around a common purpose – to evolve the sport of skiing. Through the Mountain Collective, Havell, Thorien and Sansoz will be directly involved with product testing and development, helping to ensure that Salomon is committed to producing innovative women’s products that are performing at the highest level.
