A rugged smartphone built for the hard charging individual, the G’zOne Commando is equipped to withstand the elements. Having undergone grueling military testing, this phone laughs in the face of rain, dust, vibration, humidity and extreme temperatures. It’ll withstand full submersion in one meter of water for 20 to 30 minutes. A good ol’ drop onto concrete from four to five feet didn’t even rattle it. The greatest thing about this phone is its assortment of apps geared toward the outdoor enthusiast: compass, walking counter, trip memory, tides/sun/moon tracker and thermometer, to name a few. It has ultraloud speakers too, so you can hear people on speakerphone in the midst of a storm. Its battery life is great. One charge powers usage for 24 to 36 hours. The only downsides of this phone are the tracking on the screen is inferior to the iPhone, it’s preloaded with Bing, not Google search, and the photo/video quality are marginal. If you need an ultradurable phone and can hack the downsides, it won’t let you down.
