Volkl Katana Skis
Slightly larger than its family member the Gotama, the Katana is a big-mountain machine. At 112mm under foot, it’s no secret that this ski is most at home in deep snow and on gnarly terrain. Employing ELP—a low-profile camber that maintains uninterrupted edge contact— the Katana delivers a smooth, graceful turn on anything from groomers to crud. One tester said, “It’s stable as can be. It’s got life and pop, but mostly it’s fast and aggressive.” Another commented that the Katana, at 191cm, “is almost too much ski for most people. Strong skiers will love it though. This thing is serious.”
