Named after Skogen Sprang’s grand-pappy, the Cornelious is one serious rockered fatty. It features a light bamboo core underlaid with carbon fiber for greater strength. Slant recently tested a new, even lighter strain of bamboo with similar strength properties. The company is using that proprietary bamboo in all their skis this year. “This ski is playful, light, great in pow and crud, fun on groomers and is easy to turn,” said a tester. “Skogen killed it with this one.” It’s stiff underfoot and softens towards the tip allowing it to handle well at high speeds and float through varying terrain like drifts and drops.
