POC Spine VPD 2.0 Jacket
Some people really like to huck themselves and no matter how calculated you are, unfortunately sometimes things go awry. For those that like to huck their meat and want the ultimate in protection, POC offers the Spine VPD 2.0 jacket with chest, back, shoulder and elbow pads. The great part about these pads is that they aren’t hard and uncomfortable. POC’s VPD (Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough) is a highly dampening polyurethane foam that is flexible yet stiffens upon impact to absorb energy. It’s so effective that the spine protector passes the CE 1621-2 motorcycle standard test.
The removable, ¾’ thick spine protector is perforated for breathability and tapers from about 8.5” at the top to 5” at the bottom. In front are three removable, quarter-inch thick, VPD inserts that create a flexible chest protector and the arms have shoulder and elbow pads sewn into them. A nice detail is also the two thin inserts behind the shoulder pads that cover the shoulder blades.
The jacket itself is constructed from high-strength, stretchy aramid material and includes a waist band as well as forearm straps to hold everything in place. If you’re looking for the ultimate in protection, look no further.
