Mammut Ultralight Removable Airbag 3.0 Review – 2017
Some folks complain that airbag packs are too heavy. Mammut looks to eradicate weight concerns with this one. The pack, with airbag and cartridge, weighs in at a manageable 1,900 grams (4.1 lbs). The system also packs down neatly, is removable and is compatible with other Mammut Airbag 3.0 RAS packs. A diagonal ski-carry system allows for convenient bootpacking while an ice axe holder makes storage easy on the skin track. Another useful feature: Its back-padding is removable in case you need a comfortable seat to lounge on between ascent and descent. The cartridge is sold separately with a price tag of $190.
