Over the years, video segments showcasing the big-mountain skiing capital of Alaska have more often than not utilized helicopters to access jaw-dropping spine lines. Recently, with human-powered travel trending among skiers, more and more athletes have taken to ascending Alaska’s mighty mountains via the use of their own two feet.
Dane Tudor—Rossland, BC resident and steep skiing wizard—joined the movement, taking a bush plane into the heart of Alaska’s Tordrillo Range and setting up camp amongst hulking mountains. From there he waited out a brutal three-day snow storm, shoveling out the campsite multiple times, before finally ascending and descending picturesque Alaskan lines when the sun finally emerged.
