Rifle through the history of freeskiing in 220 seconds

Sometimes, new readers will ask us what our name, FREESKIER, means. And, despite the fact that we’ve been running independently for nearly 20 years, that’s a tough question to answer. Freeskiing is so many things—the culmination of decades of pushing the limits on skis—meaning there can never be a real definition.

But, this video from Red Bull does fantastic job at showing how we got to where we are today. It showcases freeskiing’s various different stages—ski ballet, big-mountain pioneering, the tall T-filled park craze… everything—and will surely resonate with anyone that’s ever put a pair of planks on their feet.

Red Bull created a 30-minute, extended version of this video, as well. Click here to check it out.
