Hornbeck, Perron and Moxham explore Chile in Armada’s “Meltdown South”

“Chile is a vibrant spot. We enjoyed every aspect possible, no doubt about it. There is so much to absorb between the cities and mountains, which made the lack of snow a minor issue. We slid on a lot of park features down there. Our edit is a bit on the jib side of things, but we had fun every day and I think we inspired some local folks to enjoy just hitting a flat rail.

Hornbeck, Moxham and I were hyped to have our friend and Armada film director, Corey Stanton, along on the trip. Corey offered different approaches on travel, film, music, and communicating to say the least.

Our hostel in Santiago was bonkers. I think it was called Hostel Dominica. The employees were all cool people and from different countries including Germany and Argentina. We were in the coolest part of Santiago, or so I felt. There was a variety of people, mad music, street art and folks selling handmade goods. We tried wild food, talked with loads of people and  stayed up late a night or two. Chile was like a giant restaurant except every meal was unable to be cooked at home.

I hope folks enjoy this video piece. Corey and I spent a good time editing and honing in on certain interludes and segments to make it an easy, crisp watch. I’m hyped. Hope you all enjoy.” – Brady Perron, Armada athlete

“Mike Hornbeck, Ben Moxham, Brady Perron, and Corey Stanton bring you the second installment of the Meltdown Series, Meltdown South a short film shot this past July and August in Valle Nevado and Termas de Chilan, Chile. Traveling alongside Evolve Chile, watch as the crew explores the sidecountry of Nevados de Chilan, skate the streets of Santiago, and ride the parks of Valle Nevado and El Colorado. Aside from all of the action, Meltdown South paints a picture of the beautiful culture and rich history of Chile, through its people and its places both metropolitan and far off the grid. You will not see a short movie about Chile quite like this. This is the Meltdown South.”
