California was the latest ski-centric state to join in on the October snowfall, with anywhere from six to twelve inches piling up at various resorts in the state. Here are some of the snowfall totals from today, as well as opening dates for those resorts:

Alpine Meadows: 10 inches of new snow; Opening day is December 13.

Heavenly: 8 inches of new snow; Opening day is November 22.

Kirkwood: 8 inches of new snow; Opening day is November 22.

Northstar: 12 inches of new snow; Opening day is November 22.

Sierra-at-Tahoe: 10 inches of new snow; Opening day is mid-November.

Squaw Valley: 10 inches of new snow; Opening day is November 27.

Sugar Bowl: 18 inches of new snow; Opening day is mid-November.
