Geoff Hewatt wins Whistler Blackcomb’s Coldfront contest, takes home $10K

This year, Whistler Blackcomb debuted a brand new online film contest dubbed Coldfront. The competition challenged six film crews to drop weekly edits, filmed over the span of the 2013-14 season, to go head-to-head in a knock out style tournament. The winning team would take home the grand prize of $10,000. After four weeks of solid edits from all sides, it was Geoff Hewatt who came away as the champion.

The 22-year-old Ontario native is currently in his third year studying Motion Picture Arts at Capilano University in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hewatt supplements his studies by shredding around Whistler and filming on the weekends, and his winning entry showcases his fluid style in the terrain park as well as his talent for filming and editing.

Enjoy Hewatt’s edit above, and tune in next year for the next installment of Whistler Blackcomb’s Coldfront.
