Job 1: Online Editor – Freeskier.com
Freeskier magazine is looking for an Online Editor to manage and develop its website, social media and custom media platforms. As Online Editor, you will be in charge of maintaining and championing development of our website, Freeskier.com and managing our Twitter and Facebook pages. You will work with our sales team to develop custom projects for our clients; and so, so much more.
Freeskier is an online leader in skiing, and we want to keep it that way. We’re looking for a young, smart, hungry, nerdy player to join our team ASAP. If you’re as obsessed with the internet as you are with skiing, we want to hear from you.
Must Haves:
– passion for skiing
– experience with HTML and a CMS (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla!, etc.)
– ability to work with CSS
– experience with Photoshop or other graphics suite; ability to design & create graphics
– solid understanding of social media and experience using it (Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, etc.)
– at least some experience or understanding of podcasting: rendering, publishing, etc.
Nice to Haves but Not Necessary to Have:
– experience with PHP/MySQL
– filming/editing experience
– PhD in neuro-science
Salary: TBD based on experience
Hours: 40-hours a week, full-time
Job Location: Storm Mountain Publishing office in Niwot, CO – must work in-house (Niwot is 10 minutes from Boulder, CO, 30 minutes from Denver, CO)

Job 2: Assistant Editor – Freeskier magazine
Freeskier magazine is looking for an entry-level assistant editor. Assistant editor will write stories for print and web, research, fact check, copy edit and whatever else is needed to get the job done.
This is a small, high-energy, creative environment. You must be motivated by tight deadlines, the creative process and the magazine environment. Most of all, you must love skiing.
This is a seven-month position, for full time work from June 1-December 31, 2010. The job is in-office only. We are located in Niwot, CO, which is located just outside Boulder.
Job requirements:
BA degree in journalism preferred but not required
Proven skills and experience in newswriting & copy editing
Please provide published writing samples
In-depth knowledge of skiing a must
