Before we’re waist deep in winter 2013/14, we must pause to reflect on the year gone by, to celebrate the achievements of skiing’s top athletes. Between performances on the competition stage, impressive web edits, banger film segments and beyond, 2012/13 yielded countless memorable moments, video clips and photographs. Recognizing the best of the best, it’s time to carry on the annual tradition of casting your votes for Skier of the Year.
The 2013 Skier of the Year is chosen by you, the FREESKIER faithful. This week, our staff teamed up and reflected on film after film, edit after edit and recalled contest results. We contemplated all we had seen over the past 12 months and nominated 16 male skiers and 8 female skiers. We put all the names in a box and drew them out one by one to make a bracket. The results are your first round matchups.
The women’s bracket will open October 31. This round of 16 will be open through October 31.
