Here’s the lowdown on the new GoPro app update

The latest update to the GoPro App, available for iOS and Android devices, allows users to control their camera, view photos/videos and share content instantaneously, using their mobile device.

What exactly does this mean for skiers? The app update will make getting the shot and sharing it with the world easier than ever. Set up your GoPro HERO3 or HERO2 (requires the Wi-Fi BacPac accessory for compatibility with the App) wherever you’d like—hanging from a tree overlooking that cliff you’re about to huck, on the takeoff of that park jump or just simply attached to your helmet mount—and preview the shot, change camera settings and start/stop recording remotely, using your smartphone. Just make sure you don’t ruin it by double ejecting or face planting upon landing. Then check out your footage or photos on the chairlift to make sure all is as you’d like it. Assuming you stomped that trick, transfer your footage from the GoPro onto your smartphone, and then share it via email or your favorite social channels.

Whether it be Instagram or Facebook, with the GoPro App, now everyone can see how rad you’re getting, in real time.

Note: A software update to HERO3 and HERO2 is required to use the updated GoPro App.
