Monday, here at Riksgränsen, Sweden, 30+ skiers sessioned a hand-shaped quarterpipe in the name of JP Auclair. Awards will be dished out for “Best QP Straight Air” and “Best QP Trick.” The winners will be announced Wednesday evening during an awards banquet.

Highlights of the day included Jacob Wester’s massive cork 5s; Fabien Maierhofer sending absolutely gargantuan straight air mute grabs, donning a pair of the original Salomon 1080; Kim Boberg (who’s currently sporting a bowl cut) crushing hand plants; The Bunch crew buttering, pressing and lay-backing the day away; Casabon’s insane maneuvers; and so much more. The consensus among the riders was that the session couldn’t have gone better; all in attendance were elated at the opportunity to ski on such a unique feature.

Tuesday: The Backflip Mute contest is expected to go down, beginning at 5:00 local time. Stay tuned for continued coverage from 200 km north of the Arctic Circle.
