Summer Remixing at Keystone

Summer Remixing at Keystone

The winter season is officially done at the majority of our local hills, but a few are keeping the spirit alive with events like the Summer Remix at Keystone, CO. While Memorial Day is typically known for beaches and BBQ’s, we were on the snow at Keystone to check out the scene, jib a few rails, chill on a few decks and get sunburned. Win.

The jib park was set up at the peak of Dercum Mountain – the first of Keystone’s three peaks. Sharing the gondola with DH bikers (bike park was open too) in 65 degree temps felt a lot like a summer camp. At the top, it was a quick walk to the run where you could ride two lines. The skiers left had two different box lines, skiers right had a couple of more advanced rails. All were serviced by a covered magic carpet lift, should you wish to skip hiking.

On Sunday, Keystone hosted a rail jam on the advanced features. Big ups to Austin Faroni for taking home the “W”, and congrats to the runner ups Sam Viseur and Nick Dalton.

And that (we think) officially ends Keystone’s banger season. We can’t wait to see what the A-51 park crew has in store for next season. We will keep everyone up to date with any new feature plans as learn about them.
