SNOCRU partners with Protect Our Winters, donates $1 for every app download
This week only, for every download of of the SNOCRU app—the only free mobile app that allows skiers and snowboarders to see and connect with each other in real time—the team at SNOCRU will donate $1 to Protect Our Winters (POW).
“Protect Our Winters is the perfect partner for SNOCRU,” says founder Ed Lewis. “With the vitality of the SNOCRU community it makes perfect sense to support and share the POW message which is all about climate change and the impact diminishing snowpack has on all people skiers, riders and non-participants alike.”
Chris Steinkamp, executive director for Protect Our Winters explains, “POW is excited to partner with SNOCRU and looking forward to connecting with their network. As we enter the 2012- 2013 season we are encouraged by the energy emerging brands have in terms of working with POW and helping to educate consumers on the impacts of climate change and how crucial winter recreation sports are to our economy and watershed.”
The deal expires on December 9, so be sure to spread the word. It’s a great chance to download and explore the SNOCRU app, which “allows users to meet and find friends in real time on the hill, view global snow forecasts, record runs vertical and speed, and find local restaurants, ATMs and even hospitals,” while simultaneously aiding the POW initiative—and you didn’t even have to bust out your debit card…
