Storm Mountain Publishing, producer of FREESKIER magazine, is excited to announce the appointment of Shane Dowaliby to the position of Video Editor, effective immediately.
In his new post, Dowaliby will head-up all FREESKIER video operations. This includes producing and distributing original video-content, editing and aggregating third party content, managing all iTunes podcasts, production of all live Google+ Hangouts and live streams, as well as managing all video projects for FREESKIER’s marketing-services division.
Dowaliby comes to FREESKIER with a strong background in video and film. A founding member of Montana-based Toy Soldier Productions, Dowaliby helped produce popular films including Come Find Us, Set Your Sights and Act Natural. Dowaliby has also worked with FREESKIER for the past few years on various projects including ski test videos, product review videos and event coverage—including the Orage Masters.
“We’re so stoked to have Shane join the family,” says FREESKIER Online Editor, Henrik Lampert. “The continued growth of video in our space cannot be overstated, and to have someone like Shane leading the charge puts us in a great position to take full advantage of this medium.”
A snow enthusiast since age 5, the Montana-native earned his proverbial stripes on the slopes of Whitefish Mountain Resort. More recently, he spent time shredding the likes of Big Sky and Bridger Bowl. A graduate from Montana State University, Dowaliby majored in film and photography.
“I couldn’t be more excited join the team here at Storm Mountain,” Dowaliby explains. “The company is an obvious leader in digital media, constantly looking at new ways to reach and engage its audience. Luckily for me, video will continue to be a huge part of that.”
