Rage Films Premiere at Squaw

Rage Films Premiere at Squaw

[Squaw Valley USA] September 11, 2007- It is fall in Tahoe, or maybe Indian Summer, but despite what you call it, the familiar chilly mornings have come full circle and the days before snowfall are numbered. In Tahoe, the season after summer might as well be “pre-winter,” as for many, winter can’t come soon enough. While skiers and riders count down to opening day, they seek that intangible fix. Best bet? Go to ski and snowboard film premieres and live vicariously through them. First stop: Rage Films’ anticipated ’07 ski movie release “Enjoy,” premiering at the Olympic Village Lodge in Squaw Valley on September 22, 2007. Go and get your fix.

Rage Films’ premiere is set for Saturday, September 22 at Olympic Village Lodge (located past the old fire station in Squaw). Doors open at 7 pm with an 8 pm show time. Tickets are $10 at the door and all ages are welcome! To watch the teaser or to find out more about “Enjoy” go to Rage Films.

Rage Film’s new release “Enjoy,” documents the crew’s mission to make a ski movie in a season when Mother Nature was fickle and the erratic effects of global warming were felt throughout the world’s ski regions. The crew from Rage learned quickly that they had to be ready and mobile. From greasing handrails in New York to perfect conditions in Alaska, Rage Films was there at a moments notice. Often it meant waking up at 6 am and digging for hours, building a jump that wouldn’t be hit until the following day, or watching the snow fall for days on end, and anticipating the moment it clears, only to negotiate slides, lines, and exposures that challenged even the most seasoned riders. In the end, Rage made out victorious, producing a movie that depicts the most technical urban, progressive backcountry, and big mountain lines that redefine skiing … Enjoy.

Rage Films’ always conjures up a healthy mix of jib and big mountain segments and this year is no different. Shot on location in Alaska, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, and in the backcountry of Tahoe, Oregon, Colorado, and Utah, “Enjoy” has it all.

Rage’s “Enjoy” features world-class skiers, Jamie Pierre, Tom Wayes, Daron Rhalves, Julian Carr, Reggie Crist, Enak Gavaggio, Corey Felton, Laura Ogden, Andrea Binning, Jamie Burge, Jessica Sobolowski, Kyler Cooley, Ian Cosco, Taylor Felton, Tim Russell, Tom Wallish, Ashley Battersby, and others. At the Squaw Valley premiere on Saturday, September 22, there’s a good chance ski buffs will be watching the athletes, alongside some of the athletes. As it happens, Rage Films’ stars Tom Wayes, Jessica Sobolowski, and Jamie Burge also star in the Squallywood ski scene and ride for Squaw Valley USA.

Other ski movie premiers are scheduled to come to the Olympic Village Lodge this fall. Matchstick premieres “Seven Sunny Days” on October 5, and TGR premieres “Lost and Found” on October 20. For a complete list of movie premiers and events taking place at Squaw Valley USA this fall, visit Squaw.
