Dash Longe knows his way around a pair of skis, for sure. (Just look at the season edit he put out last week.) But does he have great taste in music? If you like old-school rock ‘n’ roll, soul, R&B, funk and/or blues, you’ll be inclined to say “yes” after scrolling through Longe’s top 10 ski tunes and more, below.
Longe’s top 10 ski tunes
Three favorite music genres: Rock ‘n’ roll, soul, R&B, funk and blues.
Three favorite musicians: The Band has been my favorite for a long time and I’m really feeling The Grateful Dead and Aretha Franklin right now.
Three least favorite music genres: Christian rock, new pop and poppy country. I love the country classics, though.
Three least favorite musicians: Maroon 5, U2 and Rihanna. Lots of mainstream music these days doesn’t do it for me.
Best concert you’ve ever been to: This Too Short concert I went to about 10 years ago is sticking out in my memory for some reason. It was back when I still lived in Tahoe and we got a huge crew together and caravanned down to Reno. It was an insane show and then we cruised the strip all night. It’s just one of those all-time memories.
Worst concert you’ve ever been to: I admittedly went to a U2 concert—even though I think they might be the most overrated band of all time—at the University of Utah stadium. It’s a dry campus, so we snuck a bladder of boxed wine in and it squirted all over this woman’s white jacket sitting in front of us as we went to pour some in our cups. Anyhow, the performance was funny… Bono running around this circular stage and The Edge with his nerdy beanie… Not for me, I guess.
