Aspen/Snowmass, CO, August 23, 2007 – Aspen/Snowmass will once again host The Meeting, October 4-7 – a weekend celebration of ski and snowboard films. Now in its third year, this original event has grown into the must-attend season kick-off for the snowsports industry—creating a scene for fans, athletes and industry players to share in the anticipation of the upcoming season.
“The Meeting is a great way to kick off the winter season. It is one of those special events that only comes along a couple times of year where athletes, filmmakers and industry magnates all get together in one place to share ideas and good times,” said Dirk Collins, Teton Gravity Research. “And there is no better place to host an industry film festival than Aspen.”
The six ski movies to be screened are Teton Gravity Research’s Lost and Found, Poor Boyz Productions’ Yeah Dude, Level 1’s Realtime, Tanner Hall’s Believe, Eric Iberg’s IDEA and Rage Films’ Enjoy. This year’s six snowboard films are Absinthe’s Optimistic, Mack Dawg’s Picture This, Mack Dawg People’s We’re People Too, Mongo Pro’s The Constant Struggle, Standard’s Catch the Vapors, and UnderPar’s, Keep Talkin’.
All movie showings during The Meeting will be open to the public at various venues around Aspen including the historic Wheeler Opera House and Belly Up. The film screenings will be surrounded by parties, events and other surprises with the top ski and snowboard pros featured in the films, the filmmakers themselves, and other industry influencers in attendance to discuss trends and entertaining stories behind this year’s movies. This year’s event will begin on Thursday, Oct. 4 will the NEPSA Video and Art Awards at the Wheeler Opera House.
The Sky Hotel is the host hotel for The Meeting, offering a limited special rate for industry and media attending the event (www.theskyhotel.com). Rooms are available for only $149 per night, Thursday, October 4 – Sunday, October 7, while rooms last and if booked by September 15, 2007.

Teton Gravity Research – Lost and Found
Shot on 16mm film and HiDef, Lost and Found is the extraordinary story of the 2007 season as seen through the eyes of world-class skiers and snowboarders. With global drought persisting and ski resorts closing around the world, athletes were forced to follow the snow, sending them deep into the uncharted north country of Alaska and Canada. Filmed almost entirely in North America, Lost and Found is a testament to the terrain and conditions that only exist in the Western Hemisphere. This film will take you into the vast, unexplored Tordrillo Mountains of Alaska, proving that some of the best big mountain riding in the world is still completely undiscovered. Athletes take advantage of the bountiful winter in British Columbia, hit disturbing park features in Aspen and score over-the-head powder pillows at Skeena Heliskiing. IDEA focuses on Eric Pollard, Braden ‘Pep’ Fujas and Andy Mahre’s first few professional years of skiing. As well as documenting their innovative skiing, IDEA also captures who Eric, Pep, and Andy really are and how they view the world. Whether it is on skis, in a ping-pong match, or just painting a picture – you will experience it as they do. Directed by Eric Iberg and filmed by Matt Schwagler and Justin Wiegand.
