We’ve been busting our tails this week putting 250+ pairs of next year’s skis to the test. The testing process is hard work (really, it is ) but the experience also comes with a tram-load of shenanigans on the side. The collection of Instagram posts below highlights rip-roarin’ skiing and some of the more lighthearted moments, too. Enjoy the sights and sounds from Aspen, CO.

Ski Test day 1 in the books! 'Twas a beaut' of a day at @AspenSnowmass. Here, #FREESKIER Editor @HankLambo gets comfortable on the 2016-17 edition of the Fischer Ranger 108 Ti. How do we rate the skis, you ask? With a few simple clicks in our handy, custom mobile app, testers score skis on a scale of 1 to 10, based on the categories of carving, stability, versatility, float, playfulness and overall stoke. The ratings compound into a massive heap of testing data, directly at our fingertips. Just think: If a certain ski has received enough reviews to satisfy our needs, we’ll pull it from the racks right then and there, allowing our testers to migrate towards models that need further analysis. This process ensures a thorough and proper evaluation of each ski in the test. Moreover, the app allows testers to document their feelings in the moment, while the strengths and nuances of a certain ski are still freshly embedded in their minds. The data/rankings will ultimately be presented in our annual Buyer’s Guide. This week only, you can subscribe to FREESKIER magazine for just $5; follow the link in our bio to redeem! For now, it's back to the ski test. Stay tuned for rockin' coverage all week long. #FREESKIERFEST #Aspen | Captured via #GoPro @GoPro
