Silverton lengthens 2016-17 guided operating season in celebration of ski area’s 15th anniversary

The 2016-17 ski season marks Silverton Mountain’s 15th anniversary as one of North America’s most unique ski areas. To celebrate, Silverton, located in Colorado’s rough and rugged San Juan Mountains, has extended its guided operating season for 2016-17.

Last summer, Banks Gilberti, Khai Krepela and Noah Curry sent it up to Woodward Copper for a week of summer shredding under beautiful, blue Coloradan skies. Clearly, they had a total blast, and they’re going back again this summer from July 10-16 to do it all over again.

On June 9, the International Ski Federation (FIS) Council announced the 2021 FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships will be hosted at Zhangjiakou/Genting Resort, located 110 miles outside of Beijing, China.
