Breckenridge Announces $4,500 Donation for Kevin Pearce Recovery

Breckenridge Ski Resort announced today the annual Matt Wyffels Rail Jam resulted in a $4,500 donation to Kevin Pearce, a champion snowboarder and Olympic hopeful from Norwich, VT, who is currently in recovery from a traumatic brain injury. A sunshine-filled weekend meant a great turnout to the annual Spring Massive event on Saturday, April 10, named after Wyffels, a former competitive snowboarder who was paralyzed eight years ago. Since his paralysis Matt has learned to walk and even snowboard again, despite his doctors’ prognosis that he never would. Matt and Breckenridge Ski Resort donated 100% of the registration fees, plus cover and drink specials raised from the after party following the rail jam totaling $4,500.

“I am just happy to be a part of this. I don’t think there is much reason to thank me”, simply put by Wyffels when thanked for his generous contribution and decision to pay it forward toward Kevin’s recovery.
