The name Michelle Parker is recognized and respected throughout the ski industry and greater action sports community. Not only did she redefine women’s park skiing early in her career, Michelle was also one of the first women to incorporate park tricks in the backcountry. She recently signed with ATOMIC for skis, boots and bindings and dedicated this season to pushing the sport and herself further while creating a film segment with Matchstick Productions. It is her first time filming with MSP so keep a look out for Michelle in MSP’s 20th anniversary film due out this fall.

VERSATILITY AND DEDICATION

There are not many female freeskiers that could claim to be as well rounded as Michelle Parker. Growing up racing gave her great overall skiing technique, however she soon ditched the spandex in favor of the park and powder, turning pro at the ripe young age of fifteen. Her fierce work ethic was soon rewarded with multiple podiums at the US Open, culminating with the Gold medal in slopestyle at the Aspen Open in 2009. Her focus then moved towards filming and the backcountry, filming with likes of Shane McConkey and completing a guiding course in Haines, Alaska. Her incredible work ethic and well-rounded skiing makes her the perfect addition to the ATOMIC family and she is just as stoked as ATOMIC. “I really look up to Chris Benchetler and all of the ATOMIC athletes in terms of their riding and their character, so I am really excited to be involved.”

A PERFECT MATCH

The California native plans to continue filming with MSP next year along with fellow ATOMIC athlete Richard Permin. She has spent most of this year filming with Richie in Alaska and British Columbia skiing on the all new ATOMIC Millennium, the women’s specific high performance powder ski. When venturing further in the backcountry Michelle has also been using the new ATOMIC Tracker 16 touring binding. “I have been really impressed with all the ATOMIC products that I have used” said Michelle “It’s an exciting new direction for me and the change is nothing but positive”. Welcome to the family Michelle, ATOMIC is just as excited to have you on board.
