Aspen/Snowmass Freeskiing Open returns February 20-23, 2014

The Aspen/Snowmass Open remains a favorite of ours. It’s not everyday that up-and-coming skiers have the opportunity to shred the same slope course (and pipe) as the X Games competitors. Registration is now live for slopestyle, superpipe and a rail jam for both men and women.

Press Release, Aspen/Snowmass, Colo., November 4, 2013

Registration is now live for the Aspen/Snowmass Freeskiing Open which takes place at Buttermilk, February 20-23, 2014. The competition is one of the last stepping stones for athletes on their way to competing on the elite level; fitting as they are competing on the X Games Aspen course. The disciplines will include slopestyle, superpipe and rail jam for men and women. The Aspen/Snowmass Freesking Open is an Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) Gold sanctioned event and FIS Noram Cup event. The event has a prize purse of over $25,000 to be awarded.

“Going into our ninth year we are proud to again provide athletes with a chance to prove themselves on the X Games courses just weeks after the pros leave,” said Cat Leonaitis, Aspen/Snowmass Open Event Manager. “We continue to see huge progression each year and I am excited to see what the athletes bring to the courses this year.”

To register visit www.aspensnowmass.com/open. All competitors must have their FIS license before the first day of registration. Due to processing times, athletes will not be able to purchase a license on site.
