2012 Ski Movie Reviews: Legs of Steel – Hurt So Good

These guys have fun. The community aspect of the Legs of Steel crew was showcased in last year’s triple jump closing segment in Nothing Else Matters. This year they put together a big ‘ol road gap, over the Grossglockner Pass road. Good friends, great skiers, a huge jump and rock and roll (think Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart”). Perfect. Sven Kueenle and friends’ opening segment, ripping high-speed, big-mountain lines and throwing big tricks off cliffs, is another standout. At times, the movie gets lost in slow motion and quick cuts, where, at times, the multiple-angles are too obviously different takes. Hurt So Good is a killer 30-something minutes of ski action to watch as you grab a coffee and gear up before heading to the hill.
