About Sugar Bowl
A true gem, Sugar Bowl will surprise you with its technical steep zones and top-notch parks. Thanks to the mega-resorts that surround it, you’re going to get plenty of fresh lines on powder days as you ask yourself, “Where is everybody?” From Mount Judah, you can ski to Donner Pass. From Donner Peak, you can bring it back to 1999 and hit the often-photographed, highly-intimidating Donner Train Gap.
On-Hill Tip: First time visitors should lap Mt. Lincoln Express to get a lay of the land. If the Pallisades are open and looking good, get in there.
Off-Hill Tip: Fuel up pre-shred at Wild Cherries in Truckee. The homemade vegetarian chili is served with a cornbread muffin or tortilla chips. Get “The Works” and they’ll add grated cheddar cheese, red onions, cilantro and sour cream.
