The Best of Snowbird
1. Best On-Mountain Breakfast: General Gritts — Located on level one of the Snowbird Center. Put some hearty food in your belly en route to getting in line for the first Tram of the day. It’s a one-stop shop, with employees who whip up some great morning breakfast items and serve free advice pertaining to the best spots on the mountain.
2. Best Groomer Run: Mark Malu — Take the Tram or ride lifts (Gadzoom to Little Cloud) up and head out to the Little Cloud Bowl where you will find the start of the Mark Malu groomer. Link it to Bassackwards to Big Emma and enjoy over 2,500 feet of vertical to the base. You’ll end at the Gadzoom lift with the chance to do it all over again.
3. Best Tree Run: Mach Schnell — If you’re good enough to figure out the trail map you’ll find this gem of a run. Take the Tram to the Cirque Traverse. It may be hard to pass up all the powder on your way, but if you can work down to the Cirque ridgeline, and find the point of Mach Schnell, it’ll be worth it.
4. Best Gnarly Terrain: North Baldy Amphitheater — Take the Tram and prepare for a little bit of hiking. The signs will not lead you to the Baldy hike so consult your trail map or ask a friendly local. Once you click in, follow the high traverse around the Buttress Rock and you will be closing in on the spot. Beware of major cliff zones that are well-marked but loaded with features.
5. Best Lift To Lap On a Pow Day: Gad 2 — It doesn’t get much better than this area for deep pow skiing. Drop in right under the lift for a steep, fun run. This is a no-fall zone, and locals riding the lift are waiting for any opportunity to heckle at a good double ejection.
6. Best Lodge: The Cliff Lodge — The Cliff Lodge; it’s one of North America’s most iconic ski lodges. Easy ski-in and easy ski-out, timeless décor, rich history and always feels like home when you are there.
7. Best Après: The Tram Club — The Tram Club. Two flights of stairs below the Snowbird Tram, it’s one of the most cozy spots to unbuckle your boots and get a beer/shot combo on Earth. What happens in the Tram Club stays in the Tram Club. So have a little fun; your secret is safe with us.
