Wired makes case for Surfline-style ski service, Joel Gratz lays smackdown
A Wired.com writer recently made a somewhat heated case for needing a Surfline.com-type service in the ski world. When I read his story, my initial reaction was, “Good idea, but your supporting arguments are flawed,” and I hoped to write a response as to why. (For example, the writer ignores that Surfline’s primary service is forecasting, not real-time crowd-sourced reporting.)
But then I scrolled down to the comments to see that our good buddy Joel Gratz beat me to it. Joel is the creator of the wonderful OpenSnow.com and his top-rated response is worth a gander:
