Windells spring update: Increased park size for 2014, plus loads of snow

The folks at Windells Camp dropped a line today, and summer 2014 is shaping up to be a doozy thanks to increased park size and hefty snow depths. New for this summer, Windells has added a private, lift accessed 22-foot pipe to its program: that’ll be the only such halfpipe in the U.S. for the months of June, July, August. Additionally, Windells has added one half-mile of “lappable fun and creative features” to the mix, dubbed Lap Park. Thus, Windells now boasts more lift-accessed terrain than any other camp in N.A. during the summer months. Windells upper park is currently rocking a snow depth of 486 inches, so rest assured, there’s plenty of the white stuff for shapers to work with this summer; that equates to jibs and jumps galore. More info provided via the press release below.

P.S. Freeskier Week invades Windells for Session 1: June 11-17, 2014. Remember how much fun we had last year? Video provided in case you’d forgotten.

Press Release, Mt. Hood, OR, May 13, 2014:

When it comes to private parks, size absolutely matters. Windells campers now have access to more snow than any other summer camp on the planet!

Windells has added a private lift accessed 22-foot Superpipe, the only Olympic sized halfpipe in North America during the months of June, July and August, and the Lap Park, an additional half-mile of lappable fun and creative features. Windells campers will have a chance to experience the best terrain parks available in North America accessed by Windells three private lifts and two high speed quads reaching over two miles long.

Windells Private Park will remain exclusive to Windells. High Cascade’s main park will remain exclusive to High Cascade. Both High Cascade and Windells (ski and snowboard) campers will have shared access to the Lap Park and 22-foot Superpipe. It’s the same Windells camp experience that you know and love with so much more.

No expense is spared in designing, building, and grooming the parks. Windells has more lift-accessible terrain than any other camp in North America during the summer months. Our two Private Parks extend over a mile and contain the longest lap park on Mt. Hood. Two high-speed quads and four private rope tows keep riders lapping through three diverse parks within Windells’ area; the jump line, the jib park, and the lap park. Campers have private access to bag jumps, rails, boxes, wall rides, staircases, jibs, and jumps of all shapes and sizes. Windells has something for everyone.

Windells upper park has a current snow depth of 486 inches and with more snowstorms on the way; Timberline and Mt Hood Meadows were the obvious locations to host the West Coast Sessions 8 and Superpark 18. The stellar snow year on Mt. Hood has provided a sure-to-be awesome summer!
