This just in: Saturday and Sunday are going to rock in Lake Tahoe

After a less than optimal snow season in the Sierra Nevada, winter has made a triumphant return to Lake Tahoe, dumping nearly 20 inches of Pacific powder on the region. Squaw Valley has reported 16 inches of new snowfall in the past 24 hours, Alpine Meadows has received 17 inches and Kirkwood has seen 14 inches of fresh snow.

For all of you powder chasers in California, this weekend is an optimal opportunity to get some late season powder turns in before breaking that mountain bike out of storage.
