Scarpa Freedom SL Boot – 2014
From the Editors of Freeskier:
Chris Davenport was a key tester for Scarpa as they developed this big-mountain, backcountry ripper which is constructed with ultralight Pebax Rnew plastic. It features a burly ski/hike mechanism, which offers a 27-degree range of motion and is free of friction, as the only contact points when touring are the ankle rivets. Tech soles come standard but can be easily swapped out for DIN soles. The Pros: Removable soles are integrated well for precision handling.
The Cons: DIN soles sold separately.
