One tester called this offering “great in variable conditions.” This is due in large part to its triax construction—a poppy, lightweight poplar wood core sandwiched between triaxial fiberglass—which provides added torsional rigidity while the addition of rubber defends against vibration. The result is a do-it-all ski that performs on hard snow, in pow and the chop. Another tester noted the Nomad “handled itself like a champ in crud.” This ski is made domestically in Colorado and backed by Icelantic’s three-year warranty, so don’t be afraid to bang these babies up.
