Following the success of the Kennedy, Swiss-based Faction Skis has developed a smaller—and more playful—version for the ladies with the Area. Developed in conjunction with Kristi Leskinen, the Area makes for a great slopestyle ski for smaller features, but testers found that it wasn’t the most stable. Yet what it lacks in stability, it more than makes up for in durability and energy, something all park skiers are looking for. Testers found the Area to be “poppy” and “lightweight,” while heat-treated steel edges increase its jibbing life.
