“Shiro” is the Japanese word for the color white, and also the name of Volkl’s new powder ski. Appropriately, the Shiros love to spend time in the white room but they aren’t specific to one condition. Testers said they “shred” on groomers and are stiff enough to really giv’er off backcountry trannies. They’re also “really carvy and lively” thanks to Volkl’s rocker technology which has a long, gradual early rise in the tip and tail, giving the skier constant edge contact throughout the turn.
